East Kootenay Haven

This home, constructed by LWE Builders, is a Georgie Awards® winner and BUILT GREEN® Platinum certified residence situated moments from the beautiful lakeshores of British Columbia's East Kootenays region. The design thoughtfully utilizes the lot's triangular shape, showcasing a mountain modern aesthetic with a striking butterfly roof that seamlessly integrates the dwelling with its natural environment.

Given the warm summers and cold winters of the region, a key design objective was ensuring year-round comfort. This was accomplished through a highly insulated building envelope coupled with an energy-efficient heating system, incorporating the following features:

R60 ICF foundation

R30 wall assembly utilizing 2×6 Pacific SmartWall® Technology by Pacific Homes

Triple glazed Innotech windows and doors

Warm roof assembly incorporating 6 inches of 2-pound sprayfoam

2 air source heat pumps

96% Viessman boiler for domestic heat, hot water, and in-slab heating

Independent HRV system

East Kootenay Haven received two 2017 Georgie Awards awards: Best Custom Home valued between $1,300,000 – $1,899,000 and Best Certified Home – Custom. Congratulations!

Innotech products featured include Triple seal Tilt + Turn Windows, Picture Windows, Lift + Slide Doors, and Entry Doors. These all have a silver foil exterior and white interior finish. All windows and doors are triple glazed, and many windows incorporate easy-access handles (positioned lower on the sash for improved accessibility).
