About This Project
Innotech collaborated closely with the architect to contribute to the home's key architectural element. Initial designs for this wall incorporated an aluminum curtain wall, divided into nine sections using mullions that were both expensive and visually unappealing. While aluminum curtain walls might appear to be a suitable option, their energy and thermal performance is often substandard. This lack of energy efficiency could have increased the home's operational expenses for heating and cooling, and potentially resulted in an uncomfortable living environment – too warm during the summer and too cold during the winter.
Known for our expertise in crafting extra-large windows that maintain exceptional performance, we suggested modifying the original plans to incorporate Innotech windows, separated by a limited number of glue lam beams. This revised design replaced the original nine smaller glass panels with five larger windows for the feature wall. Crucially, performance in terms of air, water, and energy efficiency was maintained throughout this process. The finished product is a testament to this approach.
