About This Project

The McKinnon Block in Revelstoke, Explorers Society Hotel, offers a unique experience for visitors and residents of British Columbia's Kootenay area. This historic building, originally constructed in 1911, has been reimagined as a boutique hotel, restaurant, and bar.

The building's redesign was a comprehensive 14-month undertaking. The resulting space seamlessly blends historical charm with contemporary design. The boutique hotel offers nine guest rooms featuring modern amenities, comfortable accommodations, and a delightful breakfast. The Quartermasters Eatery restaurant now occupies the main floor. The building's lower level boiler room has been cleverly converted into The Boiler Room, an intimate whiskey bar.

Innotech provided the building's replacement windows. These windows incorporate simulated divided lites (SDL) to emulate the original double-hung window design. Finished with a black exterior and white interior, the new windows ensure guest comfort and provide essential ventilation, while also delivering energy efficiency for the building's owners.
