About This Project
Central City Concern is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving single adults and families within the Portland, Oregon, metropolitan area who are facing homelessness, poverty, and addiction. Established in 1979, the organization has established a full range of affordable housing options, integrated with essential social services like healthcare, recovery support, and employment assistance.
Laura's Place provides supportive transitional housing for women who have completed Central City Concern’s Letty Owings Center program. This inpatient treatment center offers health services to pregnant and parenting women. The communal home provides mothers who have successfully finished their treatment programs with an opportunity to advance and apply newly acquired skills in a real-world setting. Laura's Place assists approximately 16 women and 16 children annually, equipping each family with crucial life skills, budgeting knowledge, and rental expertise necessary to obtain and maintain permanent housing.
In 2015, Laura's Place was renovated to increase the home's capacity by 30% through the addition of two housing units, enhance communal spaces, and improve overall safety and security. Architecture Building Culture oversaw the design of these improvements, specifying Innotech products for the new construction.
Brian Cavanaugh, Principal and Co-Founder of Architecture Building Culture, stated, "We selected Innotech windows and doors for Laura's Place because no other products offer the same combination of design, quality, and performance. Innotech proved to be an excellent partner for this project!"
Innotech is pleased to support Central City Concern in their commitment to providing safe housing solutions for families facing hardship. Innotech contributed 4 windows, 3 Terrace Swing Doors, and window/door coverings for the expansion and upgrade of Laura's Place. All windows and doors were manufactured with double glazed laminated glass by Cardinal Glass Industries. Utilizing our Hybrid Framing System and Defender Hardware System, our windows and doors will contribute to a secure and comfortable living environment for the women and children residing at Laura's Place.
