About This Project
Situated in Winnipeg's vibrant cultural district, between the Red River and the Exchange District, The Strand is a contemporary waterfront condominium complex offering a mix of residential and commercial spaces. With a focus on sustainability, The Strand was designed by LEED® accredited professionals to be both durable and energy-efficient, incorporating numerous environmentally friendly elements.
Rudy Friesen, lead architect and developer for The Strand, explains, "My vision was to incorporate expansive windows that would fill the interiors with natural light and showcase the stunning cityscape. Simultaneously, I sought windows that could endure Manitoba's harsh winters and arid summers. After consulting with the Innotech team, it became clear that their tilt and turn windows provided the optimal combination of energy efficiency and durability we needed."
Innotech offers their windows and doors with either double or triple glazing options. The Strand utilizes a triple-pane, warm-edge glass configuration, complete with argon gas fill and dual high-performance low-E coatings. Manitoba Hydro projects that The Strand achieves annual savings exceeding $4,400 CDN due to the implementation of energy-efficient, triple-glazed Innotech windows.
